About
I'm Alberto Abate, but really I'm Albo, because that's what everyone knows me as.
This is my space, not necessarily a work one, where I share thoughts and reflections. I picked a place that's a bit antiquated and a bit ancient (a blog, in 2026) because I don't find myself in the other spaces anymore, and I don't recognise myself in them. I don't want to perform, that's not what I'm interested in: I just want somewhere to keep a public record of what I think, hoping someone reads it, or maybe not. If anyone's interested I'll be glad, of course, which is why there'll be a comments section soon.
My quest here is to share what I discover and what I make, without expecting judgement and without ulterior motives.
The work quests, on the other hand, live on olab.quest, which is also the name I freelance under. Olab Quest is the outlet for my mission, which is making the digital world a little less complicated through AI automations, and soon I'll put everything there.
I work for Fullstack Lab, between Rome and Catania, so I'm an AI engineer, or developer, in the making. I come from marketing, which I disown a little more every day: over ten years between companies and an agency, the last seven in Catania doing SEO and digital strategy, and when I joined Fullstack Lab in 2024 it was actually as a marketing strategist. Then, with AI, the world evolved and so did I, and since I'd always flirted a little with the dev world, today I'm a hybrid of marketing technologist, AI product builder and AI engineer (though I struggle to say it).
I like to think I was born to create, and I didn't say born to create beautiful things. Every field I really care about carries that same passion inside it.
I like music, progressive rock specifically, and I like making it.
I like graphic adventures, and I like making them (more on that later).
I like stories, and I like writing them.
I like writing stories to make albums to make songs,
and I like writing stories for graphic adventures and making the music that goes inside the graphic adventures, which are actually the transposition of a concept album, et cetera et cetera.
I like coffee, but it's never occurred to me to produce it. So what I say is also the opposite of what I say.
